About Dr. Vijay Jayakrishnan

Dr. Vijay Jayakrishnan is a expert in interventional neuroradiology, endovascular neurosurgery and general Interventional radiology, Dr. Vijay Jayakrishnan has nearly three decades of experience in performing diagnostic and advanced interventional procedures. Trained at some of the finest hospitals in India and the UK, his areas of specialisation include non-invasive treatment of brain aneurysms and vascular malformations using coils, stents and onyx and current intra-arterial clot extraction treatment for acute stroke. He has performed more than 1000 neurovascular procedures, mostly brain aneurysm treatments, arterio- venous malformations and fistulae in the brain and spine, Carotid and Vertebral artery stenting, Intracranial angioplasty and stenting, brain and spine tumour embolization, embolization of facial haemangiomas and similar vascular lesions and several cases of clot retraction (mechanical thrombectomy) in acute stroke. Dr Jayakrishnan is a post graduate trainer for higher specialty training in Interventional Neuroradiology, recognised by the Royal College of Radiologists and has trained several current consultants leading the practising in the UK and India. He was instrumental in starting the first DNB program in Interventional Radiology in Kerala at Aster Medcity, Kochi Dr. Vijay Jayakrishnan is also currently associated with Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust, United Kingdom as a Consultant Interventional Neuroradiologist. He is a member of the British society of Neuroradiologists and the United Kingdom Neurovascular group.
